For our first project, I want to create a very comedic zine. Recently, I have heard a lot of my fellow classmates in all of my studio courses talking about how they want to combine art and another discipline, like science or math. I want to combine art and comedy... two of my biggest passions. I'm not sure where that will take me in either sector of those respected fields, but I'm willing to give it my all! For this specific zine, I want to do something around the idea of "Inanimate objects doing intimate things". Essentially, I want to take mundane, everyday objects like food, furniture, etc. and anthropomorphize them doing intimate tasks us humans do everyday. Such tasks include using the toilet, taking a shower, clipping your toenails, having sex... all the gross stuff we keep private to ourselves. I want to explore our relationship with such intimacy by replacing the human with an inanimate object to create a light-hearted approach on the things we all do but never talk about. I want to create the normal one page zine (I believe its 8 pages) and each page has a visualization of these intimate tasks. I am challenging myself to create new spaces out of images and add life to each still scene. Let's just say, this is gonna get weird.
